Yes, it is true, that they spam about 1 or 2 times every months or so for upgrades, but maybe the people should just login to their account and untick every option in the service letter page:

Not only that. The coder of the "new" MPC (clsid2) is also helping at MPC - HC and i think that the "new" MPC (guliverkli2) will be abandoned, because clsid2 is helping at MPC - HC. These are atleast my thoughts. I could still be wrong about that.
