I recently had trouble with my computer not recognizing my cd/dvd drive.
I put a cd in the drive nothing happened as well as it not being shown by my file manager. I first thought it maybe a conflict with my virtual drive emulator which in my case is Alcohol_52% So I Dismounted all my virtual drives and uninstalled Alcohol_52%. I then rebooted.
After the reboot My dvd drive was still not shown. I went to system manager hardware and then drivers. I found my Optaric dvd drive along with this virtual drive
ELBY CLONEDRIVE SCSI CdRom Device
Both had ? marks next to them with an error message saying there was errors with my driver. I uninstalled both drivers and then searched for new hardware. Windows found my dvd drive and installed the driver but also the ELBY CLONEDRIVE SCSI CdRom Device driver. Both had the the same error and still no cd/dvd shown on windows explorer and the drive would not function. I did a system restore from several days ago. It I got my dvd drive back.
I have several dvd rippers Wondershare being the latest installed. Which I used 3 or 4 days ago to rip a dvd that I own.
Anyway any ideas
Cheers
