I don't see how it can. It runs for less than a second (milliseconds actually) every 30 minutes by default. It runs, then stops. It does not run resident all the time. (You can change how often it runs actually.)

However, I do vaguely recall someone complaining that this was a problem for him. Again, I don't see how this would be possible.

I suggest you install it and see. It's very easy to uninstall if it would cause a problem.
