Gina Marie Wylie host a few select authors there:
http://www.beyondthefarhorizon.com
you need to create a free forum account, then after login you have access to The list of recent stories posted/updated:
http://www.beyondthefarhorizon.com/phpBB2/show_recent.php
The author index:
http://www.beyondthefarhorizon.com/phpBB2/author_list.php

There many excellent stories there about 100, mainly Science-Fiction.
I especially like those from Gina and Bruce Bretthauer.

The Palace of Amino link, I don't see anywhere to download the books, just read them online.

by mr6n8 on 12. April 2011 - 20:27  (70057)

They have changed to read online since I added that site here.

Thanks for pointing that out.

I have seen that with a number of the free pdf book offerings.
I do not know if it has to do with the Kindle (for sale) offerings that the site now has.

When I have time, I will correct the description.

by PVJ (not verified) on 26. March 2011 - 14:17  (68601)

This is an overwhelming list of books.

Anyone know of rating/review/must-read-list site that could be used filter out the best ones??

Thanks

by MidnightCowboy on 26. March 2011 - 16:38  (68607)

Impossible. Just like films and other media, what I might think is fantastic will be a complete load of tosh to someone else :D

by mr6n8 on 31. March 2011 - 13:18  (68993)

To add to what MC has said.

At one time I was incorporating the comments of posters into the listings. However, I ended up with a situation where one poster would say a series of books was horrible and another would say they loved the same series.

After that I stopped posting such comments into the review.

There's also http://www.starshipsofa.com/ won a little thing called a Hugo Award last year.

http://cthulhupodcast.blogspot.com/

http://www.scottsigler.com/

I could list more, but they would be mostly webcomics.

James.

by mr6n8 on 6. May 2011 - 16:22  (71531)

Unless I am missing a link there, starshipsofa seemed to be more of a radio podcast with a story mixed in.

The other two are more appropriate in the Horror listing here and will be added there when that page is updated.

Thanks
Steve

by mr6n8 on 25. March 2011 - 21:54  (68570)

Thanks for those.

As to the webcomics-if you could post over at

Free Comic Books Online
http://www.techsupportalert.com/free-books-comics

That would be great

Steve

by MrWednesday7 on 27. March 2011 - 19:03  (68666)

Thanks, I'll endeavour to do that.

James.

by mr6n8 on 25. March 2011 - 16:53  (68554)

To all the posters, I will get to the sites you list.
Unfortunately, I am having issues with getting on this site right now.
I have to use a proxy as the site is not letting me on.

Hopefully, this will be resolved and I will be able to update and add your sites in.

Thanks
Steve

Edit: I am now able to access site through my old computer (which throws any theories I had about my modem being the issue out) and will be doing some updates.

I note that some of the sites posted are podcast sites. I have a large number of podcast sites saved on my other computer and was thinking perhaps there should be a separate section (not under audio) for podcasts. I do not know if this makes any difference to you, but if it does one way or the other, please post here.

by Knight_of_Pentacles (not verified) on 25. March 2011 - 16:27  (68553)

by Martin Hale (not verified) on 25. February 2011 - 12:52  (67074)

I'm publishing a serialized Sci Fi story (monthly) at the moment set 400 years in the future. The Earth is now a husk and humankind has been forced out into the solar system living out of run-down space stations and colonies.

The story follows a collection of outlaws and misfits as they struggle to survive and avoid the heavy hand of a mafia-like overlord.

The story is completely free to read:

This is a community effort and your contributions help make this list better.

I have gone through the links on the written works section and all should be working properly.

I will be going through the audio soon.

Please, if you find dead or bad links, post about them in comments.
Likewise any sites you know of that are not listed here.
