Update: The site owner Gina Marie Wylie, has been having some trouble with her domain registrar.

She left a message to use beyondthefarhorizon.net instead of .com for now. Things should be working again in a few days.

I figured Daily Science Fiction and 365 Tomorrows were not listed as they do not do books, only flash fiction, hen saw that Clarksworld only has shorts, no novels, listed. But 365 and DSF are my nightly ritual, so just wanted to see if you were serious about only books. Thank you for this great service you are doing!

Actually realized that 365 Tomoorws was up at beginning of list, but had trouble editing it out. So I apologize for that. And now am really glad I mentioned DSF. (Watch: it will pop up ascter I send this!)

Thanks for the Daily Science Fiction link. I have bookmarked it and will add in next update. I can always use new sites (they get harder to find).

Not sure what you mean about editing it out for 365 Tomorrows - but if you have a description for it that you think better describes the site - I would be happy to put it in. I maintain 22 book pages now and I do not have the time to look in to a site. Same for DSF - if that is what you originally meant.

Steve

UPDATE: I have started updating this page and have added DSF in.

Gina Marie Wylie host a few select authors there:
http://www.beyondthefarhorizon.com
you need to create a free forum account, then after login you have access to The list of recent stories posted/updated:
http://www.beyondthefarhorizon.com/phpBB2/show_recent.php
The author index:
http://www.beyondthefarhorizon.com/phpBB2/author_list.php
(without login all you see is a blank page)

There many excellent stories there about 100, mainly Science-Fiction.
I especially like those from Gina and Bruce Bretthauer.

The Palace of Amino link, I don't see anywhere to download the books, just read them online.

by mr6n8 on 12. April 2011 - 20:27  (70057)

They have changed to read online since I added that site here.

Thanks for pointing that out.

I have seen that with a number of the free pdf book offerings.
I do not know if it has to do with the Kindle (for sale) offerings that the site now has.

When I have time, I will correct the description.

This is an overwhelming list of books.

Anyone know of rating/review/must-read-list site that could be used filter out the best ones??

Thanks

Impossible. Just like films and other media, what I might think is fantastic will be a complete load of tosh to someone else :D

To add to what MC has said.

At one time I was incorporating the comments of posters into the listings. However, I ended up with a situation where one poster would say a series of books was horrible and another would say they loved the same series.

After that I stopped posting such comments into the review.

There's also http://www.starshipsofa.com/ won a little thing called a Hugo Award last year.

http://cthulhupodcast.blogspot.com/

http://www.scottsigler.com/

I could list more, but they would be mostly webcomics.

Unless I am missing a link there, starshipsofa seemed to be more of a radio podcast with a story mixed in.

The other two are more appropriate in the Horror listing here and will be added there when that page is updated.

Thanks

Thanks for those.

As to the webcomics-if you could post over at

Free Comic Books Online
http://www.techsupportalert.com/free-books-comics

That would be great

I wanted to suggest Clarkesworld Magazine, they have science fiction stories for reading on-line, and they also have a downloadable audio fiction podcast.

I have to agree EscapePod (sci-fi) and the associated podcasts: PodCastle (fantasy), and Pseudopod (horror) have some of the best fiction on the net. All a downloadable as mp3s.

by mr6n8 on 6. May 2011 - 16:19  (71530)

Thanks-Podcastle added in here-and credited to you.
pseudopod will be added in the horror book listing.
