This is a listing of 51 sites that legally offer free ebooks of Comedy, Humor and Satire, for reading.

Free Comedy, Humor and Satire eBooks

20200k has a large collection of links to free books in its humor category.   There is also a section for Children's Humor books. Note:  Most of the links here are working, but there are a number that lead to BookRags, which are not free anymore.  Unfortunately, there is no way of telling where the link goes until you click the link.  Since they did fix the issue with archive.org links, hopefully they will fix this. Thanks to Marie99 for pointing this out.

Amazon has a good amount of free ebooks scattereda round the site.  This link is to the Best Sellers, or in the case of free I assume most downloaded.  There are other ways to find free ebooks in the humor category at Amazon listed in the article here:  Free Kindle eBooks Online (Legally).  Registration is required and offers are subject to residency (this link is for USA users).

Author Stand   has several hundred free ebooks in its humor category.  All are available for free download in PDF after free registration.  These are unique works by unpublished authors.

Barnes & Noble has 344 free ebooks in its humour category and has them divided into subcategories to help narrow your search.  This requires their Nook or Nook app (available for free).  Registration is required and there are residency restrictions (this link is to USA site).

Bibliotasttic has about 20 free ebooks in its humor category available for free reading online.  These all appear to be unique works.   There is also 1 free ebook in its Comedy category.

Bookie Jar has over 300 free ebooks in its Humor Classics category.  All are available for free reading online without registration. Free registration is required for free download in EPUB or MOBI (Kindle).  There are also 5 free ebooks in its Humor-Indie category.

BookRix has several thousand free works in its humor category.  The reading online is in a popup window that reads as an ordinary book.  There are some classics that can be found elsewhere, but there are also many unique entries here.  The adult oriented books require registration to read or download.  Free reading online and free download in EPUB available.

Booksie has over 6,000 free works in its humor category.  These range from short stories to novels and are unique works of unpublished authors.  All are available for free reading online or free download in PDF (press "Generate eBook" button).  there is also a Jokes section with several hundred free entries.

Books Should Be Free has about 200 free classic ebooks in its humor category.  While primarily an audio book collection, each book is alaso available for free reading online and free download in EPUB, PLUCKER, Kindle (MOBI) and TEXT.

Bookyards offers 5 free ebooks in its humor category.  All are available for free download in PDF.

BrowzerBooks  has an interesting collection in its humor category.  A mix of classic and some newer uniquue entries.  All are available for free reading online or free download in PDF.

Centsless Books monitors Amazon (USA) for the top 100 free ebooks in the Humor genre.  Updated hourly.

Fahim Farook  offers his humorous science fiction novel, Honest, The Martian Ate your dog, for free download or online viewing.

FeedBooks has a large collection of works in its public domain category of humorous.  There is also a good sized collection in its public domain Humor category.  Both of those feature classic works.  The original books section there also has a Humorous and  Humor sections containing a good amount of free ebooks.  All are available for free download in EPUB, Kindle (MOBI) and PDF.

Foboko 8 free ebooks in its humor category available for free reading online without registration.  With registration they can be downloaded for free in varying formats.  Limit of 5 free downloads per month.

Get Free PDF has 7 free ebooks in its humorous books category.  Despite the site name, download and viewing options may vary.

Giggle Poetry  a large collection of funny poetry for children available for free reading online.  Also, a poetry class for children to learn to write poetry and other activites are available for free.

Gutenberg has a large collection of classic books in its humor bookshelf.  Generally, these are available for free online reading as well as free download in a wide variety of formats.  The subject page for Humor also has a large listing of works which may be easier to look through.

Heidoc monitors Amazon for time limited ebooks and offers the option to view, or be notified of, free time limited offers in Amazon's humor category.

Hundred Zeros UK monitors Amazon (UK) for free ebooks in the Humor genre.

iLove eBooks monitors Amazon (USA) for limited time free ebook offerings in the Humor category.

Joggoon offers 3 free ebooks in its humor categories for free reading online. (optimized for the tablet).

MartiinKolacek  offers his science fiction/comedy book for free download in PDF or for Kindle.  Also available offsite for free download in ePub or prc (Palm) and for free readinng online.  Originally available in Czech language and now in English.  Thanks to "Werst" for the information on this.

obooko  offers over 100  free books by self publishing authors for free download in PDF.   Free registration is required, but I have received no spam at all.

Short Fiction UK  has a large collection of free short stories in the Humor category available for free reading online without registration.

Short Stories Free  has 6 free short stories in its Humor genre available for free reading online without registration.

Smashwords has a very large collection of free ebooks from independent authors and publishers in its humor & comedy category.  These are available for download in a wide variety of formats, including KINDLE, EPUB and PDF among others, as well as for online viewing.

The Book Depository has 81 free ebooks in its Humor category available for free download in PDF without registration.  You will se prices listed for each of the books, but that is for hard copy.  Look for the green Get Free eBook to click on and then the green Download Free eBook PDF on the book listing page.

TheLiteraturePage has 20 free books in its comedy category.  These are classic works and are available for free reading online.

Wattpad has a very large collection of works in its humor stories category and there are other humor categories around the site if you search.  These are unique works by unpublished authors.  Many readers have a preference for this site.

WHSmith all of the links for the free ebooks go to Kobo.  There are 54 free ebooks in the humour category.  I put this in as a separate listing as this category is not listed at Kobo.  Books may be downloaded in PDF or EPUB.

WikiSource has a nice size collection of  novels and poetry from the late 19th century and early 20th century available for free reading online in its houmour category.  Some are also available as audio works.

World Wide School has about 25 free classic novels in its humor category available for free reading online.
