Suggestions and comments

I have recently marched into the world of Linux.  I have Mandriva and of course I have Wine to work the Windows software.  The programs I have gotten to work are photoshop 7 and RevoUninstaller.  They work great.  The Uninstaller is I find necessary and the Revo fits the bill. 

My question is for those of you who have Linux, what freeware have you gotten to work whin the Wine environment?

The thing that irritates me everytime I come here is the backwards order of comments compared to all the other sites I regularly visit.  Any chance you could add a Sort button to reverse the order like shopping sites do with price?  Thanks.

I have a 3 -4yr old shuttle with 2.4g single Processor, max'ed 2g older DDR RAM, APG Radeon 1600Pro 512 /128 vid card .  FltSim works good, actually surprisingly well altho nothing else is on the computer.  Just FS9 & FSX, TeamSpeak, FSHost., a few other small apps.....and of course virus protection stuff.  FS9 holds a solid 24 FPS with almost all sliders at max,  which is fine.  FSX is another story.

Would be good to have a means to flag SPAM in the forums for removal.

Some forums have the means to flag SPAM for removal. Enough people flagging it, and it automatically gets ditched.

Or something like that. So that this great site does not get cluttered with SPAM.

Somewhere would be good to list and compare the best download sites.

Which ones are really useful, and which ones are just advertising portals!

There's something thats been concerning me for some time about this site - the large number of postings by 'Anonymous'. I am concerned about the quality and provenance of such postings. This is the only forum I use that doesn't require posters to register.

I was simply wanting to note that the commenting system you have for each individual section (Example: Best Defrag Program) could use some tweaking. Moving through each page of comments isn't as clean as it could be. Maybe a page with more clear dating and numbering of comments and maybe more precise sorting. Intelligent commenting so that each product a user mentions is highlighted, or searching, could also be implemented.

Another note: I would recommend a more visible 'note' on products that are open source. This could provide increase support for these projects.

As the title suggests I am wondering if I am missing something obvious... but I can't find any way to see which articles have been recently updated by the authors, or to find newly added articles.

For example, how can I tell that there has been some changes in "Best Free Antivirus Software" or Best Free PDF Writer without actually having to visit those pages?

I have been experiencing slow download speeds on my 3 yr. old Dell Dimension desktop (XP sp3) I routinely run the following programs: Super anti-Spyware,Malawarebytes,Advanced SystemCare,SpybotSearch&Destroy,AVG FREE 8.0 and my browser of choice is Firefox.Anybody have any idea what I could do to speed things up?
