Hardware problems

Hi, I'm having some fluctuating performance from USB devices, and find it hard to get a clear picture of all my USB ports, native ones and those on a PCI card - which ones are 1.0 and 2.0, drivers, whether they're correctly recognised in device manager, whether they're performing as fast as they should etc.  What I would love would be a good overall USB diagnostic/monitor, and I haven't been able to find much by Googling yet.

Any recommends much appreciated!

My connection drops and I have to keep renewing my ip address. I don`t know if the problem is in the computer or with my dish. I have an HP and I do NOT want to try to talk to those people to try to figure this out and my dish( Wild Blue) support is just as bad. Any suggestions?

I was wondering, my school doesnt have any directX installed and I want to run a program that requires directX 8.1+. I was just curious if there is anyway to run the program if i install directX or something onto my USB.

The computers at my school doesnt allow me to run the install file for directX btw.

I have a EEE PC with 40 GB of storage. It it soild state with partitioned storage, and runs Window XP
Currently I have everything on my C drive which is (7.5 GB)
However, it is rapidly filing up (ie. I have 1.5 GB left) and I still want to load the new office and the adobe suite. (but obviously I wont have room)
The other D drive (30 GB) is completely empty.

I'd like to take 3 external hard drives, with USB connectivitiy, and plug them into a hub that is then connected to a router via ethernet cable. Is this possible? I'd like to be able to access these 3 ext. hard drives from our home network computers.

Hi,

  using a live video.  all the sudden the display went b&w.  (used to be color)  tried on another computer and it works just fine.  is it a video card problem??

"I lost all my sound. speakers checked out fine. i right clicked speaker icon in bot task bar it did not show mute checked and settings were fine. what do i do next? gagalex@hotmail.com

 Recently I tried to do a system restore, but got a dialog box saying "System Restore Application has encountered a problem and needs to close" Get the same message when trying to check status from Computer Properties box.Went to Start,Run, typed services.msc., shows automatic and enabled. From Control Panel,same message. Tried to install sr.inf from installation disk. Would not respond. Worked fine 3 days ago when I created  a restore point, but now I can't even get to it to roll back system. About to erase drive and do complete re-install.
