Want to set up USB Hub to Network Router?

I'd like to take 3 external hard drives, with USB connectivitiy, and plug them into a hub that is then connected to a router via ethernet cable. Is this possible? I'd like to be able to access these 3 ext. hard drives from our home network computers.

1. hook up the 3 external hard drives to the hub
2. connect hub to main computer or one that you rarely shut down
3. set up the drives to be shared. go to computer, right click, "share", give whatever access/permissions and save
4. map network drive by going to "network"

presto.
