Video cables do fail from time to time. If you can replace the video cable, that's a good step, they aren't very expensive.

yesterday my monitor suddenly lost the color red and possibly yellow--none of my diagnostic programs did anything, i.e., safe mode reboot, pc dr. tests, et al..never had this problem b4 7 i've been cptng since 1975--is my monitor dying? because of divorce probs & financial woes i was unable to extend my warranty so i can't call tech support. will the monitor stay aliove or is it doomed shortly? please angels of tech! help!

check your monitor also. if its video card problem most likely it will give you error beep codes, or no display at all.
most computer hardware problems can be solve by isolation, I just hope the you got spares to do that.

I hope it helps.
Cheers

Oh sorry didn't see the new on the forum, if this is a new computer, take it back to were you bought it and have them check the video card. You will void your warranty if you break the seal on the computer case.

Sounds very possible I would try switching the video card with one from another computer and see if you still have the problem.
