TV Card
I've recently bought a new computer from PCSpecialist and it has a TV card built in. I think it is a Realtek RTL 2830. On Device Manage it comes up as DTV-DVB 3071 PCIe Capture Device with HID. The driver version is 1.0.4.6.
I've connected it to my aerial lead which I know works perfectly well as I tested it with a TV. I've tried it with 2 programs - DigitalTV and Blaze DTV which worked with my old USB TV dongle.
There are no yellow marks in Device Manager. I'm in the UK so it uses the DVB-T thingy yes? Both programs sense there is a TV card (DVB-T: DTV DVB PCIe BDA DVBT Tuner 0 and Tuner 1). I'm not sure why it detects 2 though. I've just rescanned and it's found nothing. I told it to scan United Kingdom.
I'm running XP SP3.
I'm not sure why it isn't working. Any help? Drive issue, card issue or computer issue?

For what it's worth I've had an original plus a replacement card from PC Specialist, neither of which worked properly. Experimentally I fitted an older Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-T card that I'd had in a previous machine and it plays nicely with Vista 64 bit. Playback is very smooth, although even here I cannot play any BBC channels, but they were detected during channel search.
Hopefully Hauppauge technical support will have an answer - they seem to be on the ball.
I also bought a new computer with PCspecialist with a DTV card which comes up as DTV-DVB 3071 PCIe Capture Device with HID with river ver 1.0.4.6. I have similar problems with scanning for channels in UK, nothing is found. I am using XP with SP3. Anyone with similar problems?
Just bought a new PC from PC Specialist and two TV cards later it is still not picking up the TV signal but they have admitted to me they have had problems with the cards they have installed. Device is installed correctlty and identified in Device manager. Signal fine as I used it with my digital tv. Still not picking up a signal using the PC card though.
Either a hardware vs Vista64 conflict or drivers aren't up to the job.
Thinking about sending back the PCI card and buying a USB TV package which I know works.
My first guess - drivers with SP3.
