Turn my photos into drawings

Hi all,

Do you know of good quality freeware programs to turn photos (mostly portrait and landscape) into black and white pencil drawings?

I have found a few, but with relatively poor results.

I have to admit I have never really seen a good conversion of an image transformed into a good pencil drawing. Fotosketcher is about as good as most gets. You could try one of the photographic software packages as they have filters. Gimp hasn't a very good one so forget that but try a paint program

It's not really what you're looking for but Photo2Text does a great job of turning photos into ASCII art.

I have also tried some free filters in Paint Shop Pro, but nothing really gives me the look of a real hand made sketch.

FotoSketcher is indeed fun and on some pictures the result is really good. But for portraits it usually falls short...

I'll keep looking.

Bit late in the day, but have a look at http://www.befunky.com/
It's all done on-line, and l think it's better than Fotosketcher.
