MS Office OneNote Alternative

I want to use my tablet pc to take notes in the class. I know Evernote can do that. But the way Evernote organizes notes is just not what I want. I want is something similar to MS office OneNote which keep the notes page by page separately. OKay, I just want a free alternative of MS office OneNote...

Try RedNoteBook (there is even a portable version on portableapps.com). Is the same idea, but with less functions.

Try WikidPad

Have you ever tried Pinoteo (www.pinoteo.com) - it's very simple and free. Later it'll be versions for Mac and iPad.

Weird thing, Pinoteo comes up with an installer box and every button etc is just question marks. What's the score?

Have you tried KeyNote? Not as many features as Onenote and the interface could be better, but it works for me. Plus it's under development again (new developer) so I'm sure we can expect more from it in the future.

If you use more than one computer and wish to avoid sync hassles, Evernote is the best free alternative. Although there's no tree structure — yet, the search function is excellent and tags make filtering very easy.
If you don't mind syncing your data files or if you only use one PC, One Note is great, but not free of course.
The free (open source) Linux program BasKet Note Pads is scheduled for Windows porting at some stage. It's very similar to One Note and worth keeping an eye on.

Evernote technically is no longer freeware; the latest version is now adware, with an adbox serving third party ads (not merely nagging you to upgrade to their premium service). The only way to close the adbox is to pony up the annual fee for the premium service.

Not aware of any OneNote "me toos", but here's a couple of products you may not have run into.

try "deBrief", http://debriefnotes.com/, there's freeware and payware versions

I use Evernote, interestingly I don't like OneNote.

THis certainly is NOT OneNote, but it is free.

Azz cardfile is a firm possibility for organized note-taking. Each entry (each file) is represented as a card in a rolodex file.
