My wife and I use outlook, with seprate outlook data files. however, I have been trying to figure out how to share our contacts so that we have a common address book. is there an application which will sync up our address books?

I have thought about this solution but could anyone help me with this issue? I have multiple windows live email accounts and I would like to keep the calendars in sync without using a 3rd party software. When looking at the .PST files for these "web based accounts" it does not give me a local file.

The easiest way is to use ScheduleWorld (http://www.scheduleworld.com/); It also allows you to sync selectively using category-based filtering... and not just contacts but also multiple calendars, tasks and notes (all optional, of course!)
I have tried the shared PST, but as kdyer mentioned you cannot share a file between 2 concurrent sessions.
Any other suggestions?
Did you see the other option about Gmail? There is an option to connect to Outlook from Gmail.

One way that I have done this with our installation of Outlook is a bit of a hack. That is, if you use Outlook on the same computer, you would establish a commmon PST file..
(1) Create a folder in C:\Documents and Settings (for example)
(2) Copy the PST you want to use to this location.
(2) Login to Outlook. Configure it.
(3) Close out of Outlook..
(4) Rename: C:\Documents and Settings\<>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
(5) Re-open Outlook, Outlook should prompt you for a new location of the PST..
Repeat this for your wife's profile..
Caveat: to this is that you cannot be in Outlook the same time as your wife.
The other way to do this is to get a Gmail account and have Outlook tie in to that..
Hope this helps.
