Strengthen's Wireless Connection ?

Hey Guys;

I run off a wireless connection (dlink wireless card & linksys router)
my computer is currently in the basement and the router is on the top floor (the house has 3 floors) I was just wonderin is it possible or is there any program out there to strengthen a wireless connection
I"m currently using XP for OS.

Hi There,

I had a similar problem in my house. I made a Cantenna out of a large tin of beans and a dlink usb wireless adapter. It increased my signal from virtually nothing to Good/Very Good. If you type Cantenna into google you'll find instructions on how to make one - I have to say mine was very basic really I just mounted the usb adapter in the bottom of the can through a hole with a usb cable and taped it to the back of my desk.
