SoftMaker Office 2008 Christmas Charity Give-Away

This Christmas season, SoftMaker Software is once again giving away an older version of their office suite, SoftMaker Office 2008.  Like last year they also are running the "Load and Help" campaign which promises to make a small donation to a charity each time the product is downloaded.  Last year over €6089 was  raised and donated to various charities.   (For more on last years results, including some pictures, see here) 

SoftMaker Office 2008, is a productivity suite containing a word processor, a spreadsheet, and a presentation program.  They are also offering a collection of 80 premium fonts to download as well.   Along with this free offer, they also will provide free technical support, which according to feed back from some of our readers last year, is quite good.

SoftMaker Office, has a high level of compatibility with Microsoft Office document files,  as well as most OpenOffice (LiberOffice) formats.  I found SoftMaker  easy to use, and it has much lighter demands on system resources that the aforementioned office products. SoftMaker Office is available to run on both MS Windows, and Linux platforms.  

This offer runs until the 31st of December.  So go and download it, and give it a try.  Even if you decide not to keep it, a small donation will still go to help fund some of the charity projects on http://www.betterplace.org/.
