See The Web As It Used To Be
Google isn't the only system that stores cached versions of web pages. It isn't even the most famous. That honour goes, in my opinion, to The Wayback Machine, a fascinating archive of web sites that stretches back more than a decade. Just go to www.waybackmachine.org, type in the URL of the site you're interested in, and you can browse all the snapshots on file for the site in question. In the case of Tech Support Alert, there are more than 400 snapshots, going right back to 2001. As you can see from the image below, we've changed quite a bit since the early days.
The Wayback Machine is a fascinating resource, and well worth checking out. It's also incredibly useful if you suspect that a company has rewritten history by, for example, making a sneaky change to its terms and conditions. If you need evidence of the previous version, chances are that the Wayback Machine will provide it.

My thanks to Panzer for this Hot Find.

I remember the old website - really the only site for real tips and genuine recommendations not tainted by hidden commercial motives - just great original advice, news and freeware information. Remains the premier site on the entire internet for uptodate, original and useful nonbiased noncommercial information. Hallelujah for Techsupport and Hallelujah for Gizmo and the great team. From Australia
Nostalgia for the old tech support alert! The new one is undoubtedly better but there was something especially wonderful about the old version - didn't seem to promise much from the homepage but those newsletters were insane, the first news I've ever paid for in my life!
