Screen Resolution Emulator
I have a Dell Latitude 110L laptop which has a max resolution of 1024x768. However, when I connect to my work computer using logmein, the display views at the same level as my work monitor (1152x768). The quality took a minor hit, but was certainly an acceptable trade-off for the extra viewing area.
That got me to thinking... is there some kind of free download (for Windows XP) that will allow my laptop to emulate that resolution (even with the minor reduction in quality) that would be great.
Any one know if such a freeware exists?
I am searching for it too. Nowadays lcd tv's can do some sort of this.
I hate everybody, who start the reply with, "why don't you try something totally different thing instead of what you're looking for?"
Yes, I agree.
When I connect to a remote computer via VNC and the computer has a resolution that is higher than mine, VNC adjusts the picture so the higher resolution screen fits on my lower resolution monitor, even though it is obviously not as good quality.
I want a similar effect on my own laptop, so in essence I can "fake" the higher resolution on my lower resolution screen.
I am starting to think that such an app does not exist.
I am doing this in Opera browser. It minimizes the image quite a lot. It works for me, because I want to see how my website looks on bigger monitors. I'm not sure that this is what you want. I searched for this feature since I installed Windows 7 on my computer, which doesn't allow me to set a higher resolution than 1280 x 1024. Hope it helps.
I am searching for screen resolution emulator too,
and nobody seems to understand, what it is mean. Everybody talks about limits of monitor, or limits of graphics card..
What I am searching is some software that capable of processing larger image to a smaller monitor. without toying with monitor hardware settings such as refresh rate...
even with the little loss of image quality with non pixel-to-pixel pictures. as lower resolution images also don't produce pixel-to-pixel pictures.
I have had a go at Googling it for you. They are out there in small numbers. I had one I used a few years ago called Vividswitcher, that is now a pay software. But try the two links below. I HAVE NOT tried them.
