6 ways to protect against the new actively exploited Java vulnerability
Security researchers propose methods to protect computers from being compromised via a new vulnerability in all versions of Java Runtime Environment 7

Please explain the meaning of "All IObit programs: probable MBAM database theft"
If you Google "iobit malwarebytes" you can read about the whole issue.
My only criticism is the lack of a rating system for the index. Having said that, a thank you for an awesome job....wish other Gizmo editors took the 'wide-view' that this article does, e.g., listing alternate downloads (CNET and other alternate download links), free with paid upgrade available, etc. . This gives me the whole picture from which to choose from.
Thanks! :-)
Rating would be very difficult to add. Also, links to other Gizmo's
pages where rating has been performed are always included when available.
My wife, while in the Hospital using their WIFI, got hit by Ransom Ware, funny because it was from the FBI and they said that the computer was locked and she could be fined up to $1500.00 but that if she sent them 100.00$ (just like that, $ in the wrong place) they would unlock the computer and let her go... lol I took it home, booted it in safe mode, and did a system restore back one week, booted windows normally and ran a complete scan and got nothing but the comp is fine now.Darn FBI trying to scam 100.00$ from us!!! thats treason! lol,lol...
Well done! Some ransomware authors seem to be lazy. No crypting included in this case :-)
In this case "Lazy and Crazy" i mean, who would think that anyone would actually believe that the FBI would
a) lock your computer for no good reason and not just come pay you a visit?
b) and why would they threaten to fine you $1500.00 but then say for $100.00 they will unfreeze your computer and let you go?
lol..
hi,
nice story :) also,see section 4.8
bye
Latest Java software opens PCs to hackers
By Jim Finkle
BOSTON | Mon Aug 27, 2012 6:44pm EDT
(Reuters) - Computer security firms are urging PC users to disable Java software in their browsers, saying the widely installed, free software from Oracle Corp opens machines to hacker attacks and there is no way to defend against them.

I used to use Crypturn until I got an unusual error.
"The trial version has expiered. Please go to www.siturn.com and download a new trial version."
Yes, this is the exact spelling of 'expired' in the software's error message. I never knew Crypturn _was_ a trail version! But since it has ended its usefulness to me, I used Eraser 5.7 to end its existence on my hard drive.
ok -removed.Thx :)
