Pro Version of AVG 8 & Internet Security Suite (blocked)

I have received a splash screen warning that my AVG 8 is illegal or pirated and inviting me to pay £29 to correct this.
Question - Is it worth it or should I revert back to the free version I used before. Or something else. Note, I do not want anything that contains MXCYCLE again!

dodgy or suspicious?? you Grisoft guys seem not to be sure of this issue and to think it is your product. And you sell anti-spyware ?? lol.

I have installed AVG 8 Internet Security on a clean install of Win XP Pro with the following results.

1. Using the serial no. supplied (8MEH-REDSL-7ETEC-ULA8R-EAOKL-4EMBR-ACED) only the antivirus component is installed. Missing are the Firewall, Anti-spam & System Tools.

2. Using the default serial no. supplied with the download everything is installed but the expiry date is set to 30/1/2009. Updating the serial no. 8MEH-REDSL-7ETEC-ULA8R-EAOKL-4EMBR-ACED after installation gives the extended expiry date but de-activates the Firewall, Anti-spam & System Tools.

The serial has shown up here ... which (FWIW to the moderator) more or less assures that it's a crack.

Seems to good to be true. Everything worked as stated above. Says license good till 2018. I am interested to find out what the publishers are saying.

I just renewed my existing AVG Anti-Virus (Paid Version) with this promotional license key as mine was set to expire Jan 01/2009 at midnight. All seems to be working fine. All components are functional and it updates without any problems.

One note though: If I try and register the product the AVG website tells me that I have entered an invalid key.

If you're gonna pay for anything, make it Norton AntiVirus Gaming Edition 2009. Symantec's (pretty good) AV & antispyware protection in a package taking less than 6 mb of ram and almost no system resources. You won't even notice that it's there...very nice

This offer does'nt sound a bit logical ,Tell me why should Grisoft release 145000 licenses ? WHY SO MANY ? And good for 10 years ?What kind of promo is this ? 10 , 100 , 1000 ,OK if they celebrate! Did I miss something?
Or may be just a crack ...

this is the interntet security trial version it doesnt have the firewall.
not the same as the full retail version

downloaded *direct* from AVG and put in the *free* key, all activated as it should. Seems OK...what could be the problem, perhaps a key hack-not legit, anything else ?

good for me..no problems updates/new definitions working fine. is the 2018 normal "if paid for" or special to this download.

It is working just fine for me. Doesn't seem to be a resource hog either. Good till 2018.

The license key works as suggested although I haven't tried any of the download links.
