Printer Installation Stopped with PrintSpool error and can't be started. Any Down and Dirty answers?

I can't reinstall a printer because it errors with Printspool problem. "Stopped". It won't restart. Are thgere any Down & Dirty qures?

And yes I tried to restart it.

This can be tricky to solve, and we'd like to know your O/S.

Some success has been found using this:
http://www.bradkovach.com/2006/stop-your-print-spool-and-clean-it-too/

But it's very much a case of "use at your own risk".

You could also try googling, eg:
"Printspool problem Stopped"
