Practical Computer Tech Tips
Dabblers and computer adepts will enjoy this website with its wealth of practical information.
technibble.com bills itself as a site for people who want to start a business being computer technicians. I think its a lot more than that.
People who have any interest in computers or are looking to solve a problem will find valuable information here.
There's a ton of useful knowledge that's not very technical - its clear and easy to understand.
A recent visit turned up articles in all sorts of areas. I found a tool that will repair an AVG un-installation, how to bypass or remove a BIOS password, a repair tool of the week feature, how to clean the inside of a computer case (they recommend every 6 months to a year. They clearly don't live near me <g>), useful DOS commands, news that IE8 was patched and Safari 4 released this week..............well, you get the picture.
There are links to really useful web sites, sections on Hardware, Viruses, and Microsoft to name a few.
The forums are outstanding and include sections on Linux, Apple, and Microsoft.
If you want to post in the forums you do have to register, reading them is free.
There are some related ads on the site, and the site sells a Computer Business Kit.
There is a somewhat annoying ad in some areas of the forums.
There are no accounts to sign up for, though commenting requires a name and an email. If you subscribe to the RSS feed via email you get a free copy of the Computer Technicians Quick Reference Guide.
Signing off,
Rhiannon
