Wondershare Audio Converter was free  May 21, ONLY on Give Away Of The Day (GOTD)

Another attractive give away today from GAOTD. I'm not sure exactly how this audio format conversion program stacks up against the freeware alternatives reviewed on the Best Free Audio / Video Format Conversion Program. However, Wondershare has a reputation for making quality commercial software which is particularly easy to use. So their claim that this program doesn't have any significant learning curve even for first time users may not be too far fetched.

Developer's description of key features:

* Convert audio for popular audio players such as iPod, Zune, Creative Zen, Walkman, Archos, PSP and all other MP3 Players.
* Convert between all popular audio formats including MP3, WMA, WAV, MKA, OGG, AAC, M4A, APE, AIFF, FLAC, AU, AC3 etc.
* Allow you to adjust audio bit rate, audio channel, sample rate and let you select an audio encoder to get the best output effect.
* Support batch conversion which allows you to convert more than one file at a time.
* Allow you to cut some parts off, split the whole audio into several clips or join some clips together.
* Two real-time preview windows allow you to have a better control while converting audio.
* Easy to use even for beginners.
* Totally compatible with Windows Vista OS.

Why do I never get the free releases on the day that they can be downloaded?

The article was added to the Hot Finds listing (but maybe not to the RSS feed?) within an hour of the start of the offer. Sorry anyway.

A couple of notes:
- apparently, the software is Ok for 64 bit systems
- for FLAC conversion, select “all file (*.*)
