Anyone who wants to code in dodgy .net languages needs to be aware that not all people will bother downloading .net framework just to use their program. Use c++ maybe?
The article on this program needs to be updated. The program has been greatly improved since the 2008 writing of the article.
Fabulous program. If you don't know what Microsoft's .NET programming platform is how about GOOGLING it. Installing the .NET Framework version required is a simple, easy thing to do. http://www.microsoft.com/download and locate, download, and install the .NET Framework version required by this program. This is no different than having to install the JAVA Runtime Environment to be able to run JAVA programs. People who don't bother Googling for answers should have their PCs taken away from them.
Media Monkey User: Not everyone likes Media Monkey nor is the album art script in it as sophisticated as this program.
Anyone getting an error message about missing a spacebar either doesn't know what they are doing or needs to completely reinstall Windows because they obviously have a corrupt installation.
One doesn't need to even install this program. Download it. Use Universal Extractor to extract the program files, put them in a folder named AlbumArtDownloaderXUI, create a shortcut to AlbumArt.exe and run the thing. It is completely portable.
Tagscanner: Nice program but not perfect. Not everyone likes Tagscanner. And Tagscanner can't grab all the album art covers for an artist in one fell swoop especially if all you want is the art and don't care about the music. Believe it or not there are terrible albums with great cover art.......

Alternatively you can use TagScanner and other mp3 taggers to download and save album art into the music files.

This doesn't work. I have no idea what a .NET Framework is. So maybe that's it, whatever it is.
Why don't you use mediamonkey with the album art finder script?
I am running this on my XP machine. Its fanatastic. Locates album covers from a large variety of sources. Only problem is that I am now addicted to upgrading the covers on my iTunes library. Couldn't recommend this more highly.
I don't know what the meaning is of this program, but it won't start.
Some error message about not finding the spacebar!!??
Not worth looking at.
Tested on:
Windows XP sp3, with .net 3.5 sp1
Windows Vista sp1, with .net 3.5 sp1
Maybe you should install the .NET Framework and not throw out the baby with the bathwater?
This is a splendid program, especially in combination with Foobar2000!
Agreed. This apps is simply ultra awesome. Now I can eventually update the album art for my collection with almost no trouble. .... and it seems Portable. YAY!
