Online Service Captures Extra-Long Web Pages With Ease
In theory, a web page can be as long as the web designer wants to make it. However, make it too long, and it becomes difficult for visitors to view or print without having to scroll it up and down. Which, if you want to take a screen shot to include in a document, can make things pretty tricky.
There are various software products and browser add-ins that can help. However, there are also some useful online services, and I generally find this an easier option. After all, if you want to grab an image of a web site, you'll probably have a browser open and be online anyway, so why bother installing anything?
If you need to capture a screen shot of a web page, even if that page is too long to fit on your screen, head over to http://wescrape.com/webcapture. Just type in the URL of the page, and the image appears in a few seconds. You can view the image on screen, or download it as a jpg or gif file. It's quick, simple, and free. As you can see from the image below, which was grabbed using the service, it works perfectly.

It worked perfectly on a long graphics tutorial page and solves that problem for future grabs. Thanks for the great find!
Didn't work on any web page I tried. Looks like it's doing something but nothing ever happens.
Tried to scrape bartcop.com, a fairly long, picture rich page, and got an oops jpg. There are a number of firefox addons that work fine with this and you don't have to depend on this site. If it works for you, fine. I prefer my addons. (example: screengrab)
bartcop has a fairly long page, and there are many things on that page. So, it might not have worked as desired.. maybe the page being too long, or one of the things on the page causing a problem. For general purpose usage, I think the service will work fine.
@Anupam: I agree.
@all:
And they even offer .png which I would always prefer over .jpg.
Great find! Works very well :).
