NAT problems?

I am on windows vista and have a belkin router and the smiley faces are yellow and Ive just realized how girly that sounds, I have followed the instructions for setting up a static IP address on my computer now what do I have to do to my router apart from address it sternly with a large hammer

I take it that your ISP has supplied and confirmed your static IP address.
You may find the quickest solution is to contact your ISP's support, who are normally quite familiar with the appropriate router settings.
Many routers will automatically detect the correct settings, but if yours doesn't, the normal procedure is to first login to the router as "Admin".

You can check at Portfroward.com Router Index for your router model and then for the program you are using.

I do not know if you have looked at the guides that I have put up here. From the yellow smilies, I am guessing Vuze.
In case I am wrong, I will give this guide which also links to the other more specific guides. Optimizing Bittorrent Clients for Speed.

If you have any questions on this issue, please post back with router model and program you want to forward through the router.

Any other questions, let me know.

Steve
