Music Making For MS Word was free MAY 8 ONLY - on Give Away Of The Day (GAOTD)

Today's give away from GAOTD may be very useful for a minority of visitors - people who need or want to make and print music documents in Microsoft Word.

This time-limited offer basically seems to provide a music notation plug-in for Word. Currently retailing at $99, it comes from the makers of respected music notation software such as MagicScore.

Developer's description:

Embed sheet music into Microsoft Word documents quickly and easily! Music Making in MS Word combines all the powerful features of MagicScore 6, with advanced document editing and publishing features of Microsoft Word, allowing to create stunning publications, brochures, books and handouts that look great on-line and on paper. Music Making in MS Word makes it simple to publish your work. You can send sheet music to anyone in Microsoft Word DOC format, and they will be able to see and print the entire document complete with the lyrics without having to install Music Notation for MS Word or converting the document into raster images.

NOTES: Works with Microsoft Word only. I'm currently unclear whether today's give away provides quite all the features of the full commercial software. Nevertheless, for anyone needing this sort of software, this freebie looks well worth investigating.

After downloading from GAOTD, unzipping, installing and activating (instructions in the readme file), you'll need to open the software directly from a page of Word.

To do this, just select "Insert", click on "Object", and then scroll down to "MagicScore Object" in the pop-up menu.
