Yes the Fry's thing seamed too good to be true. 9 bucks after rebate! Problem is, never got the rebate. Never again.
Love the terms & conditions....only for US & puerto rico citizens and rebate takes 10-12 weeks...always read the small print regardless of how good the product is
Very good software, had a real hard time getting my rebate last time, said I was ineligible. I guess this problem was widespread and Amazon ended up making good on it.
No deals on updates. After the year was up wanted $50 to continue, so I'm using Avast now.
Is this antivirus a good one? I have heard of it but I am unaware how well it scores. I'm using AntiVir so if I am no better off then I will stick with the free software.
Note to takers: Good for USA and the island of Puerto Rico. It says so on the rebate form. Isn't Kasperksy 2010 out now or soon to be out?
I used to work for the company which processed KASPERSKY rebates. They are a CON. They lie about what they've received, scan in things wrongly, missing important information, so the person in the call center has no choice but to insist you resubmit. Getting the rabte can end up costing more than the rebate is worth.
Avoid this offer like the plague and teach companies like KASPERSKY to stop associating themselves with organised fraud
I never got my rebate and its been a year now. I was trying to see if there was any way to track it.
I've been using Kaspersky for years and I hope that this offer from Fry will bring this amazing software to more US-PCs.
It's usually worth every penny - and, as for updates, you surely want to update, once you've had it. Don't miss that this is a licence for *3* computers! I'm sharing mine with friends (it's allowed, you don't need to use them all yourself). If everybody pitches in, it doesn't cost much.
Oh, no: I don't work for Kaspersky. ;-)
Sam,
European living in Canada
A good deal, to be sure.
But all of these commercial products have a shelf life, in effect. I mean, they don't expire...
...but one, after a fashion, must start paying for updates.
Ugh.
That said, Kaspersky is, arguably, one of the best. For however long one can use it for, essentially, free, can't be bad.
I just prefer COMODO INTERNET SECURITY... but that's just me.
