If You Can Type, You Can Make A Movie

If you need to entertain the children this weekend, how about making and publishing your very own movie?  As the slogan for www.xtranormal.com says, if you can type you can make a movie.

Once you've signed up for this web-based service, you can start by choosing a set, the actors, background music and sound effects.  Then you're ready to create the movie itself.  As you can see from the partial screen shot below, all you need to do is type.  To have an actor make a motion or gesture while speaking, simply drag the relevant symbol into the script at the required point.

When you're ready, you can preview your movie and then publish its URL to Facebook or Twitter.

Signing up for www.xtranormal.com is free and takes just a few seconds.  You get enough free starter points to keep everyone occupied for a fun afternoon.  You can also purchase additional points if you need more actors or other enhanced features, but in my testing the free version was sufficient.
