If clicking "Herunterladen" doesn't work, don't give up. I tried it many times over a couple of days; each time the browser would report something like unknown address. I finally connected about 6 a.m. From that point on, it worked like a dream.

NOTE: The tutorial on how to do all this (see post # 10) above is excellent, very helpful!

Guys, thanks a lot for this very enriching & healthy exchange and I am glad to have noted it has already ended. As one of the more recent regulars of GIZMO, I am happy to know of this development and that the greater community would profit by your responsible and professional handling of the matter.

As regards Ashampoo Burning Studio 2009, I was able to get my own copy by reading all the tips. I just noted after quickly examining the help module of my copy there's a note that says I have to re-register ten days after I had installed this program. Can any of you help me out.

I would appreciate hearing from you.

Truly,

leofort7

I regret that I've had to remove posts from Freeb, and I wish to end this silly "debate" about who posted what first. I apologize to those legitimate users whose posts have also been deleted (it's just the way the threads are organized).
I do feel that I've handled this situation rather badly, & my resignation is on Gizmo's desk awaiting his acceptance.
I would add that we are not intimidated by threats.

by gizmo.richards on 16. January 2009 - 3:51  (13973)

You resignation is not accepted Peter.

You made a mistake. No big deal; we all make mistakes.

It appears Freeb is due an apology and so I apologize to him here and now for not properly giving him credit for the item he contributed.

In the process the guys at http://for-free-on-internet.com/ also missed out being credited for their excellent find. I apologize to them as well and to partly compensate, have created a new item about their site in our Hot Finds section.

Case closed.

Gizmo I don't deserve your apologizes.
I thank you for this place where I come with great pleasure.

The case was already closed for me too. You know that.
Your solution is very diplomatic and much too generous .

The fact that we all understood ( I hope ) what happened here - is all I wanted . It's our common interest to put things in a fair manner .

Of course Peter should not resign .
You're someone making this community work Peter . Not all of us have the time, mind and patience to do it .
For that I thank you .

Hi

Thanks Gizmo for not accepting Peter's resignation. It's me who started this debate and who should be sorry for this. Next time I would not post anything without making sure. I got these links from some forum where someone posted these links (links directly to that German site and Softpedia site). whatever I would also like to end this topic here.

Thanks

Great find......downloaded went to their website logged into my account. Yes I have one and have never paid a dime for any of their products. You should get one too. Ashampoo continues to offer free software. Some is great and some not so great. Yes, listing finds like this is in the spirit of this great web site.

Great find! Downloaded and installed, works great. Just a heads up, once you've registered on the german site you can simply log into the english Ashampoo site and go to your "Freebies" section under your account and access your keycode anytime from there.
