How to Fix a Stuck Pixel on an LCD Monitor
Stuck pixels can often be fixed using one or more of these methods.
Stuck pixels may look like a tiny spot on your screen. Dead pixels appear black, while stuck pixels stay one color all the time, likely red, blue, or green.
They are common enough that most manufacturers won’t accept returns unless there are a certain number of dead pixels. The exact number varies by manufacturer.
Whether stuck pixels suddenly appear or were there when the monitor came out of the box, there are a few methods to get rid of them. Fixes can be software or manual. This article at Wikihow has several solutions. These methods fix “stuck” pixels only – they won’t fix “dead” pixels. If you have a notebook, I would avoid the heat method completely – notebooks are already at risk for damage from heat due to their size and configuration. Please do read the warnings before you try touching or tapping the screen.
