Hot News: Gizmo's Freeware Makes PC Mag's Top 100 Websites of 2010
OK I know it's not a Hot Find but we've just found out that we've been listed in PC Magazine's Top 100 Websites of 2010 and we just have to tell everyone.
I thinks it's a wonderful recognition for the 90 volunteers who run this website. We don't have a single paid employee me included.
It's also a great testimonial of the power of community. I'm so proud of the team and I hope you are as well.

PC Magazine's Top 100 Websites should be mentioning Gizmo's Freeware every year if they were being accurate and fair.
Techsupportalert.com is even more complete in 2011, with a comprehensive amount of fantastic software. I have installed many new programs every year from here - and learnt a great deal.
Gizmo's Freeware has maintained its integrity in 2011 whereas we have seen a lot of established websites compromise themselves badly with their ethics - some sites are now including spyware with every download, as a notable example.
My hope is that Gizmo's Freeware becomes widely and internationally recognised as a premier internet site for PC Users to share their knowledge about freeware
Many thanks for your kind words :)
Hello Gizmo,
Extraordinarily good and great !!
This is the most "user friendly" site that I've happened upon. You folks are'nt limited to just your personal opinions. You share the likes of other possibilities that help people as a whole. Whether you're an advance tech, or someone that just walked out of a computer store with a basic unit, you're there for everyone. Hats off to you Gizmo and your team of volunteers...
Please Gizmo, do not change what is a perfect website format
The font size, font choice, clearly spaced out layout, clearly laid out, makes TechSupportAlert a dream to use. Not cluttered with adds or unnecessary items/text. A dream !
The "New Articles, Whats Popular Now, Updated Articles" makes it very easy to navigate to recent articles.
The tendency with commercial sites is "change for the sake of change", changing a site with different layouts, different fonts, and different layouts for the sake of making things more beautiful. TechSupportAlert is supremely functional, and that is what matters :)
Another great point. There are no interruptions to each article by advertisements, logos, sponsor names, sponsor slogans, unnecessary irrelevant weblinks etc. And no tasteless adds or weblinks
This alone is one simple standout feature of Techsupportalert.com
Thus each article can be read top to bottom. Small point but a major point when it comes to readability. Check other websites, including other reputable software and news sites - when you interrupt the article, the article gets harder to read. And the website becomes offputting if there are too many tacky advertisements
TechSupportAlert.com You are the best :)
I am a bit late but I want to add my words of appreciation for this excellent website. Guys like you and your volunteers deserve all the plaudits for this gold mine of a site.
I wish I had the money to donate.
Circumstance beyond my control and all that happy BS; I'm sure you know what I mean.
You folks are flat-out awesome in the true sense of the word.
Hi all! Well, ive been using this site and recommending it to EVERYONE (n00bs and pros alike) for at least the last 3 years. You guys do a fantastic job,and i hold your site in high regard. Gizmo and staff, thank you sooooo much. Its people like you that genuinely enhance the PC experience, save us money, and dont allow us to fall into the "You nedd this product, buy it NOW" traps that the net is so full of. Cheers once again.
Rightfully deserved. All the hardwork of the Gizmo TEAM has paid off. But I feel that this is just the begining for you all and best is yet to come. I would like to thank you all for making us IT folks' life a little easier by helping us not having to search all over the place for such wonderful articles, software, and many ideas. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL.
GREAT SITE!!!!
Arun
Great site with great info! Congrats
Congratulations. This is a great site. I believe I visit it more than any other tech site. Your comments on the "power of community" makes me a bit nervous though. It comes dangerously close to a political comment, which I hope you will keep out of this site.
Keep up the good work!
Jay

Thank you so much for everybodys hard and devoted work to keep this site up and running I discovered this website by searching for free download tool to destroy 2 Trojans that I received on my home PC. I hope to be able to fix those problems asap.
Again, thanks for the free downloads, help and so much more :)
You all are the Best!!!
This is without a doubt one of the BEST websites out there today for experts & novices alike. I can't tell you how much I've learned from this site, not to mention how much work/grief it has saved me when I've had PC problems. . .THANKS to ALL the volunteers who put this thing together!!! Please, please don't stop!!!
Gizmo... Thanks for being a fantastic resource! I most certainly always recommend your site to all who consult with me. Congratulations!
Since I found this website my life changed in several ways. Now I enjoy reading your reviews and downloading freeware that make me feel truly comfortable, more secure and very happy :) Greetings from Peru.
Congratulations techsupportalert
I am constantly surprised that the majority of computer magazines have articles on freeware, and tend to cover less than 1% of the freeware that techsupportalert tells the world about
I am also one great fan. And want to congratulate the whole team for all their hard work.
Keep up the good work!
PS:
I bed you can't remove your smile from your face, lets say ... for the next 100 years. lol
(The credit is well earned)
I teach Information Security and this site is one of the must have's for my students. More than one have commented on how much they use the site and love the offerings. There is no doubt your site is helping these students learn about security and keeping them interested. Thanks!
Since I discover this site, I've feel safe on my troubleshooting needs at work. Kudos! & guys keep up the good work. You help a lot of people.
More Power! ^,^
Congratulations from South Africa. I am constantly trying Microsoft (I hate them) alternatives and therefore I look at reviews to take inform decisions. Your web site is always the first one I turn to for information. I fact I was looking for Outlook Express alternative when I read about your achievement. Well done.
Great Job here, and u've done well to re-organise the whole website as it increases the number of freeware reviewed.
I would just suggest that it gets harder to be unbiased about ur reviews as the website gains popularity. Over the years I have started disagreeing with the Gizmo ranking, but then that could be attributed to individual usage patterns.
I looked forward to your newsletter for quite a few years and still consult your site first when looking for whatever free software I want. Congratulations Gizmo!
I love this site! I use to look at other sites for software. Now, I look here first. Congratulations on the well-deserved recognition.
Congrats! It's a well deserved acknowledgement.
Thanks for your advice and tips!
Seriously well deserved. I use almost all the suggestions from this site...especially the security ones :)
Congrats & keep up the good job
I have over 150 computers here all being revitalized with software from this site.
Thanks to all of you.
