A Handy Tool to Create Your Own Ringtones on Your Android Phone

A full song doesn't always make a great ringtone for your smart phone.
A music file can be too big for a ringtone, or a song may be a bit slow or even quiet in the beginning. If that's the case, why not select the best part of a song and make it a ringtone for your phone? This task can be easier than you might think.
To make a ringtone from an MP3 file, these are two options: you can either run a PC program such as mp3DirectCut recommended at this article Best Free Software to Cut or Merge Audio Files, or you can do it directly using an app on your Android phone.
If the latter is your choice, try Ringdroid which is one of the best and most popular free apps not to miss out.
When you open this app, you will see a list of all MP3 files available on your Android phone ready for your action. Tap a song you like, you will get a decent volume unit (VU) meter like the screen shot.
Drag the left slider to move the whole section of the song forward or back, and drag the right slider to adjust the length of the selected section. Tap the Play button to start playing the section, or tap any point at the VU meter where you want to jump-start playing.
When you're satisfied with your selection, tap the Save button, set it as a default ringtone or assign it to a contact. All these can be done using this app at a small size of around 365 KB.
It's absolutely a handy tool to make your own great ringtones right on your Android phone. And have I mentioned it's free?
