Gmail Keyboard Shortcuts to Speed Up Common Email Tasks
Being able to keep your hands on the keyboard can often be the fastest way to get things done. If you are one of the many users of Gmail, here are some keyboard shortcuts to help speed up some common email operations. Before you try them, be sure to enable keyboard shortcuts in your Gmail account as described in this previous tip.
| Keyboard shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| # | Delete selected or open message |
| r | Reply to the sender of a message |
| a | Reply to all |
| f | Forward a message |
| c | Compose a new message |
| Tab, followed by Enter | Send a message |
| g, followed by i | Return to Inbox |
| z | Undo (if possible). You have 5 seconds after Send |
There are a number of other keyboard shortcuts and entering "?" (without quotes) will open a list. You can also go to this Google link for a list.
