Get A Free Blu-Ray DVD Backup Utility

And still the Christmas giveaways keep coming!  This time, our good friends at Digiarty software are giving away free licences for their Blu-Ray DVD backup utility, which allows you to make a copy of a disc that you have already legitimately purchased.

Just go to and click on the "get register code" link in the red box.  You'll then get a pop-up window with the software download link and your registration code.

The company is giving away 30,000 copies of the software.  When I tried it, the pop-up told me I was number 5249, so there are still plenty of licences left.

Not having any Blu-Ray discs to hand, I have been unable to test this program personally.  But I have scanned the installer program (a 5 MB download) and it appears free from any nasties.

Stupid question from an old man maybe, but do I need a blu-ray optical drive on my PC for this program to work or will it work with an ordinary optical drive?. reason I ask is that I have a 3D Blu-ray 5.1 Home Theatre system on my TV and could therefore see a use for a program like this but only a normal optical drive on my PC.

Yes, you need a Blu-ray drive on your PC to copy a Blu-ray disc

Thank you Festeron, I had a feeling that would be the case so I will now delete the download. Pity, as it looks like a handy program to have.

Your question will not gain much exposure here in the comments. You are more likely to get an answer if you post in the forum.
