Download of their software needed to claim the free audio books failed. One star.

mmmmm, free + hassle = no thanks

US only and must offer up CC? No thank you.

They don't deliver to Australia either!

They are a reputable company. If you had to use your cc they don't keep the info unless you ask them to. But clicking Pay Pal is easier if you have an account with them. I enjoy the free audio books. No big deal.Don't kick the gift horse in the teeth!

Thanks for all the very quick feedback. We really can't be held responsible for their delivery policy, and we don't see why we should effectively deprive ALL users of an offer notification simply because a FEW users aren't willing to enter into an agreement with the originating company. It's your free choice; Rhiannon simply provides the information and has an outstanding track record.

FYI they don't "ship" to Canada, either. Even though I'm a regular B&N customer, I can't get this. Looks like the offer is good in US only.

CC = credit card

This is the worst 'Hot Find' of the year...

You might also consider generating a secure 1 time use card through Paypal.
I use them for all of my OL transactions.

You aren't REQUIRED to give your credit card numbers (CC info), just check the Pay Pal button and no further information is needed.

might be, but, I didn't give my credit card number but just checked the PayPal button ( I do have an account there already for years) but it takes me into a loop telling me to 'edit my addres' because they do not deliver to Brazil
Look what I copied from this message:

In compliance with shipping restrictions, the following item(s) in your order cannot be sent if the billing address for the order is located in: Brazil.
Please provide another address below or edit your cart and remove this item: Merrano of the Dry Country.

etc.

wow, these audiobooks really are a nice gift...
unless you live in Brazil (even being a Dutchman).
Going throug all the formalities like choosing, registering etc, I finally ended up -just before Paypal- wit a screen telling me that "they don't ship to Brazil'
Well I know the postal service here and I can imagine companies to be a little on the safe side, but, for me and all my Brazilian friends tnis starts being a little bit frustrating!
Well, think I will start looking at the Gutenberg project: might find something there.

Marketing ploy to add names to mailing list. And give CC info? What a deal!

by Anonymous on 25. April 2009 - 13:24  (20497)

Requiring CC details for a free offer. No thanks.

by Anonymous on 25. April 2009 - 14:01  (20501)
