Get a $40 DVD Slideshow Creator For Free Until December 7th

Wondershare are giving away free software licences to celebrate the Thanksgiving season in the USA.  Until December 7th, you can get a free copy of DVD Slideshow Builder, which turns a collection of your digital photos into a DVD that can play on any standard DVD player or computer.

The program normally costs $39.95, so a free licence is somewhat of a bargain.

To download it, head to http://www.wondershare.com/topic/thanksgiving/giveaway.html.

You'll need a Facebook account in order to sign in and take advantage of the offer.  Sorry if Facebook isn't your thing, but that's the deal on offer and you are welcome to accept or reject it.

The download file, which should run on all recent versions of Windows, is 36 MB. That's too large for VirusTotal to check, but my up-to-date copy of Sophos reckons it's clean.

If you're a Mac user, don't feel left out.  Wondershare are also giving away copies of iCollage for Mac, which lets you create wallpapers, greeting cards, scrapbooks and more.  Details are also on the above link.

Hello Ruben, please try again to use firefox browser. IE is not compatible. Do have a try! Happy Thanksgiving Day!:)

I was using Windows XP with Internet Explorer 8.

I Downloaded Mozilla Firefox portable and used it to log into facebook and was able to get code and download Setup file.

For some reason, the site is not working properly with IE8, because I tried several computers with IE 8 and got same results. When I used Firefox on same computers it worked fine.

I had posted where you could get it today for free without having to do anything with Facebook but my post was removed. Oh well.

by Anupam on 23. November 2011 - 5:49  (83750)

You posted the link to Giveaway, where Wondershare Video Converter was being offered... which is not the same product featured on this article, which you claimed it to be. Therefore, it was removed.

I stand corrected. My bad. I'll look closer next time.

I just did the thing and also got the "there is a problem" message and no code

by Catherine Lee on 24. November 2011 - 7:52  (83824)

Hello, I am sorry to hear that. We've tested the program to get keycode, it works fine. Could you please try it again? If it still can't work, please contact our support team for help. Thanks very much. Happy Thanksgiving!:)

This is utter garbage. Don't bother. Malware.

by jens (not verified) on 23. November 2011 - 15:14  (83783)

It's not malware, but it is certainly garbage - unless you like hokey, childish, overproduced slideshows.

by swreynolds (not verified) on 22. November 2011 - 18:30  (83724)

I couldn't download the product key because there was no way to fill out the requested fields. Then after a little bit, I got an error message. Maybe you should withdraw this freebie until they get their act in order.

Probably very nice, but I quit Facebook - *never* going back there. Not even for a freebie.
If they can't do a straight giveaway, or provide alternatives like Twitter or Google+, they can keep it.
I can live without a slideshow creator, good as it may be.

I logged on to Facebook and typed in my email address for the Wondershare Slideshow Builder. No joy, no return email with code. Any ideas how i could get this. Many thanks.
(your website is brilliant. i have found so many top programs that are now essential to me. Thanks for all your good work)

Hi Alex, I am Catherine from Wondershare Software. Thank you so much for your interests in Wondershare Software. Yahoo!, Hotmail and AOL are using overly strong spam-blocking filters that will most surely stop you from receiving any emails from us. Please try again by using perhaps gmail. If you still don't receive a keycode, please contact our support team. Thank you. Wish you have a good day!:)

Just D/l & registered in a matter of minutes without any problem .

by Catherine Lee on 23. November 2011 - 6:01  (83753)

Great!:)

by Bill Snyder (not verified) on 22. November 2011 - 13:35  (83702)

I also get "We're sorry, but something went wrong".

ChronicChaos' notes are no help at all. He seems to think that our error message from Wondershare is due to our stupidity. NO SO!

There is a genuine problem out there.

Thanks for any useful help.

Bill

I edited your post to what you wanted to say.

ChronicChaos' comments are not related to your issue, but to the general complainers about such offers.

by ChronicChaos on 22. November 2011 - 19:52  (83728)

To be precise, I was commenting about the usual/general complainers about offers through Facebook....not Wondershare (although it appears some are having issues). Sorry Bill if I wasn't clear enough and I hope I have provided clarity now to my original comment.

by olamoree on 22. November 2011 - 6:02  (83676)

The download seems to work, but when I click on Send Me My Passcode, I get "We're sorry, but something went wrong. We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly."

Bad coding or what?

by Catherine Lee on 23. November 2011 - 6:06  (83754)

Hi Olamoree, I am Catherine from Wondershare Software. Please try it again. If the problem still happens, please contact our support team for a keycode. Gmail is always the best choice to get a free keycode without any mistake. Good luck. :)

As of todays date 26.11.11 there is still a problem UK based

by ChronicChaos on 22. November 2011 - 3:15  (83671)

Schifreen,

You might want to edit the article to explain what "bagain" is. ;)

Great find for those that might have a use for a DVD slideshow creator. Too bad it's only a matter of time before you have those that think this site exist solely for their own purposes and they start crying about needing a facebook account.

For those that can't think for yourself, create a temporary fake account and get this offer if you want it. If it's a 'security' issue, get a decent security program before worrying about downloading anything from anywhere.

Thanks for pointing out the typo which is now fixed :)
