Get a $39 PDF to Excel Converter For Free
Programs to convert PDF files to text or document format are pretty common. However, PDF To Excel Converter is the first program I've encountered which claims to be able to convert PDF files to Microsoft Excel format.
In my tests, the results varied significantly. If you need to convert a PDF file which contains tabular data, then the converter does a reasonable job. If the PDF file contains anything but a table, the results, as you might expect, aren't so good. And as the screen shot below illustrates, even information which appears to be a table within the PDF file doesn't always convert perfectly. Or anywhere near perfectly.
Having said that, if you're in the habit of downloading large tables in PDF format, such as accountancy information or companies' annual reports, you may find this conversion tool useful.
PDF to Excel Converter costs $39.95, but if you go to http://www.pdfexcelconverter.com/giveaway.html you can download it for free until March 1st. When you run it for the first time, you'll see a notice which advises you that the trial version can only convert single-page PDF files. Click the Buy Now button, and enter the licence code which appears on the download page. The program will then be unlocked into the full paid-for version, which you can keep forever.
PDF to Excel Converter runs under Windows XP and above, and is a 5 MB download. VirusTotal reckons the installer is free from malware and viruses. And because the converter outputs in Excel 97 format, you should be able to read the spreadsheet files in programs such as Open Office as well as Microsoft Excel.

Verified: Just click the register link on the bottom left after first install. It opens up a checkout page. Close this page and return to app where a registration box will be. Paste QBLX63E875PLS81 into this box and it will instruct you to re-start the app.
After re-start, works full-functional and registered.
I would assume to never update it.
I'm just gonna block internet access with comodo firewall.
(Which should have an article here, it's an awesome app!!!)
It is, and we do, courtesy of our resident Comodo expert, chiron :)

INSTALLATION PROBLEM
Windows 7:
Execute "pdf2excel.exe" as Administrator! (Right click>Run as administrator)
Windows XP:
Install "pdf2excel.exe" 2 times successively.
Wondershare PDF-Converter does a decent job. I agree with Roberteh.
I just did a side by side PDF convert with the above PDF2Ecel and an earlier Gizmo recommendation Wondershare PDF to Word and Wondershare converted the test PDF in 3 seconds where the PDF2Excel is continues/still indicating "Preparing File." I have run this test 3 times with same results. The boast of PDF2Ecel being 160% faster than the rest....has been put to rest. Thanks Gizmo for Wondershare I will stick with this device. PDF2Ecel is how they say "dead in the water."
Correction, understandably different product designs.
Here's the code off the download page: QBLX63E875PLS81
When you click on the Buy Now button it takes you to a web site but click back on tha app and the window to enter the registration code is there.
I found the teeny tiny link to get the licence code but it doesn't work! I enter the code and get 'product successfully registered please restart the program'. So I do. And then up comes "this is only the trial version blah blah blah give us your $39.95." So I enter the registration code (again) and restart the program and am in this endless loop.
Help, please.

Same here, uninstalled the drek.
Just tried it. It does not work with image based pdfs. I tried converting a pdf I had created from a screen shot of a simple table and it created a blank spread sheet. I'm assuming this only works with text based pdfs.
This makes sense. Nothing in the article says that the SW does OCR.
When I entered the Giveaway code a web page opened up (to download the program, NOT the giveaway page) and I was advised by the program that it was "Register Successfully! Please restart program." When I clicked on OK the program closed. When I re-opened it I was advised once again that I have the 1-page trial version.
I have tried several times to register this program without success.
Any suggestions?
I tried it on my PC. When you click to Register the program, it will open a webpage... ignore that. In the program itself, it opens a window with a box where you can enter the code(its on the giveaway page). When you copy paste the code, and register the program, it will ask to restart the program. On restart, it should not show the message about trial software again... should be registered now.
Did you try it that way?
Same here. Anybody got a solution?
I tried out this giveaway on a pdf file and found the speed and result to be noticeably inferior to an earlier giveaway - Pdf Converter (by Wondershare).
This type of conversion is difficult to say the least. I searched diligently but never found a free solution that could do an adequate job, so I shelled out the bucks and went with a commercial solution, which I won't mention here because Gizmo's site is all about free stuff. Just for reference, this is the only special solution software I ever paid for. Everything else I've found here for free and that's why I love Gizmo's site.

It's right under where it says "PDF to Excel Converter costs $39.95, but if you go....." Good luck.
Looks like a great find Mr. Schifreen!
