freeware that isolates folders

Is there a freeware that will isolate folders.

sorry about the lack of details...i download stuff and i keep it in a particular download folder...so i been wondering if it is possible to isolate, preventing virus etc etc from harming windows???

A quick way to do that is to use Sandboxie. If you tell Sandboxie to install a program, it will contain that program inside a virtual environment. The programs can still READ your real registry and hard disk, but it can't write to it without your permission. Very handy for trying out new programs.

TrueCrypt can do that. It not only isolates folders, but creates a virtual drive for you. You can put as many folders inside as you like. When the volume is dismounted, the folders will be very isolated. ;-)

Or am I misunderstanding your question?
