PC Tools Internet Security Free for 12 months (Expired)

Not sure how long this offer will last, but if you sign up to it (with or without subscribing to a newsletter)  a free  registration code for the PC Tools Internet Security software suite will be emailed to you.

If you're interested in a a full blown commercial security suite but your budget doesn't stretch to it, you may like to check out this offer as you'll get free protection for at least the next twelve months. I tried it and everything was as promised - no nasty surprises.

From the PC Tools website:

All-in-one protection that keeps your PC and your identity secure against continuously evolving online threats. PC Tools Internet Security combines the award-winning security technologies from PC Tools, including Spyware Doctor AntiSpyware, AntiVirus, Firewall Plus and Spam protection, to provide complete integrated protection for your PC.

Moderator's Notes:

This offer is from Westpac, a major Australian bank. They are offering a full copy of PC Tool's security suite to users.  It's probably intended for bank customers but this doesn't appear to be a condition of the offer.  It doesn't appear to be time limited.

I checked it out and it appears to be exactly as stated above by "ManU1" who submitted this item.

You can save yourself a step by going straight to this page on the PC Tools site here:

http://www.pctools.com/wbc/

After you fill in the form you you will receive a confirming email to the email address you gave. When you click on the confirmation link in that email you will be taken to the PC Tools site and receive your serial number and a download link to the product (24MB).

I opted out of the newsletter and other advertising and it's still worked fine.  Don't be surprised though, if you still get some promotional email.

That possibility aside, it's an attactive offer.

Yes I know of this offer, it's been around for a while. The offer is legit if it is still available. I used this method and got a 1-yr registration for PC Tools IS, but I ended up uninstalling it. It is probably a good deal for someone who needs something vs. nothing. The post is worded a little strangely, maybe could be crafted better.
