Free 1000-page Ebook on Programming for Windows Phone 7
A couple of weeks ago Microsoft launched Windows Phone 7, its operating system for smartphones which it hopes can take on the might of the iPhone and Android. If you're interested in Windows Phone 7 and you're thinking about trying to write an application for it, you'll need a decent book on the subject. And technical books about Microsoft-related products generally don't come better than those written by Charles Petzold.
So it's great to see that, as part of the marketing effort for Windows Phone 7, Microsoft has commissioned Charles to write the definitive guide to programming for it. And as the icing on the cake, they're giving away the book in PDF format totally free of charge. It's a 38 MB PDF file, which you can get at http://blogs.msdn.com/b/microsoft_press/archive/2010/10/28/free-ebook-programming-windows-phone-7-by-charles-petzold.aspx. The page contains links to both the book and the sample code.
If you're looking for something to add to your library of free e-books, give this one a try.

Ah, an interesting ebook from Charles Petzold, one of the pioneers in Windows Programming and a legendary author in his own right.
His "Programming Windows" books have helped thousands of programmers (including me) to foray into the intricacies of Win32 programming.
This "Programming Windows Phone 7" looks like a keeper. Thanks for sharing!
