Fix Common PC Problems
Identify and fix several PC problems using this site.
First, I'll mention that this is a Microsoft site.
If you're still with me, I'll mention that its a very useful site.
I don't know what's up with MS rolling out so many sites recently that are truly helpful, but its nice to see.
The sections on this site are broken down into a logical progression for fixing problems; there's the basics, locating the problem, software and hardware problems and system failure. Each section has links and outlines steps where needed.
The majority of the links point to articles on the Microsoft site. Many of them appear to have been updated.
Other links point to non-Microsoft sites where you can get information and help.
I almost fell out of my chair when I clicked on a link and it led to a non-Microsoft site.
Its a great site if you are new to troubleshooting computers. The information is presented clearly, going step by step where necessary, with links to other places to get more help or information. If you're one of those whose approach to troubleshooting is on the intuitive or um, scattershot side, this site provides a good structure to work with.

A small and useful program that can fix some common PC problems (usually occurring after a malware infection) is Dial-a-fix. I find it quite handy and it has come to the rescue many times. You can find it at it's homepage:
