Finds of the Week (April 15, 2012)

Finds of the week is a list of web sites I've come across lately that are interesting, fun, or useful (or all three).

Decorah Bald Eagle Cam
The Decorah Eagle Cam is back this year, and three eggs have been laid and hatched and the three eaglets are growing fast. The cam has full audio and visual and is focused on the nest 24 hours a day so you can see what's going on. In the last year the Decorah Eagle cam has had over 7.5 million views - lots of people are tuning in to watch the parents and eaglets.
If you enjoy watching the cam but aren't sure how to tell which of parents is currently on the nest this YouTube video is an excellent tutorial on how to tell the difference. The eagles nest is located near Decorah, Iowa, in the US, and the ad supported cam feed is hosted by Ustream.

List Of Antivirus Removal And Uninstall Programs
Antivirus programs are often difficult to uninstall. If you've ever tried to uninstall one you know what I mean. Happily most of the major antivirus companies have seen the problem and have created uninstalling programs for their products. This article has created a list with links to most of the major antivirus companies uninstallers. This is one you might want to bookmark. :)

Disabling Windows Notification Pop-ups
If Windows notification pop-ups are getting on your nerves, here are directions on how to disable them in Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

Springpad vs Pinterest vs Evernote vs… Nobody?
I've signed up for and tested I don't know how many online information managers over the years. Springpad and Evernote are the ones I use day in and day out. This article takes a look at some of the features in all three, with a strong preference for Springpad. Worth a look if you are considering changing to or using one of the three services.

Fine Tune Windows 7 on Netbooks
This great article was brought to my attention by Joanna Kleaver, one of our Facebook readers. If you thought you couldn't run Windows 7 on a netbook, you might want to check it out. I installed Windows 7 on my netbook and it runs well. Not as fast as my desktop, but fast enough for this need-for-speed user.  :)

Enjoy,
Rhiannon
