PDF Search Engine is a book search engine search on sites, forums, message boards for pdf files.
I tried a few different searches and was amazed at what's available.
OK, you can find and download a tons of e-books but please respect the copyright of the publishers and the authors.

Another good one is Scribd at http://www.scribd.com/ however scribd does require one to register to download books (just user name and email if I remember correctly).

this is another pdf search engine, supprt PDF,DOC,PPT,XLS, RTF,TXT, AI, PS,DWF,SWF files.
very very simple and you can search many types at once

It won't allow the use of certain characters, for instance try searching for C++, it will only use the 'c' and give no results.
Otherwise really impressive!
