File viewer by moving mouse over file small view appears

I used to have a program in XP that allowed me to see a small picture (about 32 x 32) of a file when I moved my mouse pointer over the the name of the file.  This was great in that it showed if the file was a .txt, .jpg etc without having to open a viewer and then go back to the file.

I use a screen capture program alot and sometimes wait for a few days to go back and give each capture a name (instead of 'screenshot 15' etc).  I have been searching the net for many days without success.  Can anyone help?
