Exelead problem
I have written to Gizmo about the following, he suggested if rebooting did not work, then to ask for your help.
I have just installed the latest 4.6 Exelead desktop search. Firstly it uninstalled my earlier version and then installed the latest.
It will do the initial scan of the computer for all files etc. I then reboot, when I then try to open the prog. do do a search this happems. It opens my firefox 3 browser, and these messages come up. "Your Exalead one:desktop product is not yet started. Please use link in MS Windows start menu to launch it." or "Security issue ! The search application can only be displayed on the host on which it's installed".
This address also appears "http://127.0.0.1:17500/search/mypcSearch?q="
The earlier 4.5 version worked fine. I run Windows xp pro with version 3 security update.
I have written to Exelead, but they do not appear to be interested e.g. they have not replied tp my mail.
Your help would be appreciated Thank you.

Advice: Find another WORKING product.
(This has gone on for 2 months now....)
Why did I upgrade from version 4.5 to 4.6?
Thank you both for getting back to me. I am unable to go back to 4.5, I have not got a saved copy on either my hard drive or on disc.
Neither can I find one on the web.
I have removed Exelead using an uninstaller praised by Gizmo "Revo" this also removes all registry entries as well as other related info. I have rebooted, and have downloaded another copy of Exelead then installed, rebooted again, It will scan my hard drive for all relevant info, but when I click on the icon to search, the messages that I have posted appear, not together but at different times when I attempt to search.
I must say it was rather brave to reinstall sware that you already found didn't work for you. Why don't you simply remove it, and use eg. Copernicus or Google?

It is just that I liked using 4.5, it suited my purpose and again it was highly rated by Gizmo. I know that there are plenty of other search programs but I think that if an earlier version worked for me, why not the new!
Bits fall off.
SP3 was out on the 21 April, Exelead on 06 May... maybe there's a compatibility problem, but they could have tested SP3 RC... or not. Have you tried to go back to 4.5 or to install in SP2? Your post on the Exelead site dates from 03 July, just 2 days ago, I wouldn't say they are not interested.
It's not clear to me what you want to do.
Have you tried removing Exelead?
