Upcoming Security Products You Need to Know About

These are some exciting developments taking place in the world of computer security that promise to deliver products that are not only more powerful but easier to use.

Here are a few to whet your appetite:

Online Solutions Security Suite v1

"OSSS" is a complex protection software, that includes: Proactive Defense (new generation proactive defense system) and Personal Firewall (extremely powerful personal firewall).  OSSS provides a complete computer protection against newest hacker attacks, malicious code and rootkits.  Except for minor convenience features, the suite is expected to remain free upon release.

"This looks the most promising of the 'new era' software" -- MidnightCowboy, who is also posting more info here as it comes available

DUE: new version (hopefully public release) out soon

Avira AntiVir ProActive

Avira AntiVir ProActive is a new Avira technology for detecting malware based on its behavior. AntiVir ProActive is monitoring on-access those areas of your system, which are usually attacked by malware. All activities in the target areas are registered by sensors and reported to the rules base, to determine if the activities were indeed caused by malware. If there are activities of virulent origin, Avira AntiVir ProActive blocks them.

Avira AntiVir ProActive completes the existing signature-based, generic and heuristic detection processes, with an advanced method meant to effectively protect you against infection with unknown malware.  Avira AntiVir ProActive is to be included in Avira's free software suite.

DUE: Beta testing now, due out soon

Comodo Internet Security v4 / Comodo DiskShield

from Josh's (3xist's) & Melih's posts at Comodo's Forums

Comodo Time Machine (CTM) is the new name and new architecture of Comodo DiskShield. This IS a time machine for PC's, and will be available stand a lone and part of CIS v4. This is like the Apple's Time Machine but for PC's!
Yes... This is the CURE aspect of CIS! And CIS version 4 (I reiterate) will have it.

[If] CIS v4 prevention/detection some how is disabled, or you allow a malware accidentally to come through, Go back in time and it's as simple as that.

I am trying to take us back to no malware days

I am hoping you will even be able to go back in time for your system folders and still recover your data files....
we don't want you to lose your data just because u got infected

Time Machine screenshots are also available, but you need to be logged in to Comodo's forums ("And yep... This is a glance of what CIS v4 GUI will look like. ")

DUE:  "Comodo are doing bug fixes right now on CTM, let's hope for a beta in July/August (I'm not talking about CTM in CIS 4 due out then... actual stand a lone CTM. CIS 4 will be year end of beginning of 2010), Very similar in GUI."
