Easily Find PowerPoint Slides and Presentations Using This Site

SlideFinder is a specialized search engine for PowerPoint presentations, making it easy to find what you need.

Searching for PowerPoint slides and presentations has been awkward until now. SlideFinder does one thing and does it well; it finds slides and presentations for PowerPoint in several languages from both the internet and selected universities from around the globe. When you type a search term, results display the individual slides using thumbnails, and hovering the cursor over a specific slide shows the speaker notes for that slide. Using thumbnails makes searching much easier, saving time normally spent slogging through other search engines.
The site sports an advanced search tool and allows you to choose the interface language.
Clicking on a thumbnail will preview all the slides in the presentation, and under each thumbnail is a link to download the presentation. If you are searching using one of the available languages (listed below), both results and presentations are displayed in the language used for the search.
The list of languages is pretty impressive:

Arabic
Chinese
Danish
Dutch
English
Finnish
French
German
Hebrew
Hindi
Hungarian
Icelandic
Italian
Japanese
Korean
Norwegian
Polish
Portuguese
Romanian
Russian
Spanish
Swedish
Turkish

SlideFinder currently has over four million indexed slides coming from roughly 120,000 presentations. Several universities from around the globe were recently added to the search engine. Each university listing displays in both the local language and English. The site blog is a good place to visit, it has great PowerPoint tips as well as site news. There are tools on the site to search and view slides. The browser add-on worked fine for me in Firefox and IE (Internet Explorer), while clicking on the PowerPoint 2007 Add-in link brought up a Site Error page.

SlideShare is a great site but not a search engine, thus they serve two completely different purposes.
