Easily Create a Designer Quality Website for Free

Build Your Own Websites have been around for years. None of them interested me until now. I've finally found an application that has quality design and ease of use. No coding needed, just drag and drop. High quality templates and being able to modify themes easily make this a choice application.

SnapPages has more features than you would expect in an easy to use program.
Dragging and dropping text boxes, widgets (think Google Maps), and photographs is effortless. Also included is an integrated calendar and photo album viewer.

SnapPages has two plans, a free plan and a premium plan (around $4 a month) depending on your needs.

Free accounts consist of 3 web pages and 1GB Storage, Photo Gallery, Calendar, and your choice of 3 themes.
This is a good starting place for anyone who is starting or needs a small site.

As a heads up, free accounts display SnapPages branding on the bottom of the site.

Free and premium accounts have different features, check out the differences here:

SnapPages places a lot of emphasis on not only making it easy to create a website, but also making websites that look great. The user interface is beautiful and easy to use. I created a page with photos and calendar in about 10 minutes.

If you've been wanting a great web site but have been holding off because you don't know code or lack of features and pizzazz, give SnapPages a try.

This is nothing personal, Gizmo, but as somebody who develops websites, I have to say that all these "do it yourself!" programs take the honor out of website design.

If somebody wants to use Dreamweaver or a real piece of software like that, I suppose that's fine. But in my opinion, the real honor of being a website designer comes from actually designing the website, not just having a free WYSIWYG program to do it for you.

Again, nothing personal, that's just my opinion.

C'mon Gizmo. The 3 pages free has to be a joke. Not worth the hassle of learning. I too smell the hand of Marketing (so does my daughter and she runs her own marketing business).
BTW I'm still using NVu, even with its limitations one can make a fair old website.
Alan

Try Trellian. It is free, easy to use and just amazing. It blows all other free web editors such as NVu.

Looks pretty good, I'll check it out.

Looks good, thanks for the pointer.

The 3 pages is too limited so how do i delete my website and account? V

There's probably a law against that home page somewhere. Enough to give one a migraine and set off an epileptic fit.
Alan

That is one of the ugliest, most annoying sites I've ever seen!

Ouch! One of the worst-looking homepages I've seen in a while... And their business is website design? Good luck...

NO kidding, if I was gonna have a place design a website for me THEIR website would have to freakin ROCK. This aint no body shop, where the best guy to have work on your car drives a P.O.S.

Sorry - that 3-page limit puts this in the free toy, not free tool category. What's interesting is that with the 3 pages you get 1GB of storage. I'm tempted to set up a web page with a video of Wagner's ring cycle on it just to see if it works. Should only take me a month to upload the video.

I smell the evil hand of marketing here. I have a website with a hundred pages, all kinds of photos and stuff, all in under 20MB.

I tried to upload one small jpg file and it fell over halfway through,
so good luck with the Wagner import... hehe :-)

Jay

Also noticed a 3 page limit for the free option which does not go very far.
Sound perfect for the novice user who wants a simple webpage.
Jay

Looks like you have to host the pages on their site which is limiting- is is possible to download and run the webpages you created to your own host ?
Jay

What is the cost to own your own Web Page if you use the above free program?
Is there a monthly charge to put your Web Site on the Web?
I am new at this.

Thank You
Hal

I you think SnapPages is easy Gismo you must have a great sense of humour - or I am completely stupid! answers on a postcard to.......... Couldnt understand anything

I agree 100% - this site is in an alpha stage and
needs some serious user testing. I'm an IT person,
and cannot fathom this, dunno how a beginner would use it.

I spent nearly two hours and got nowhere fast.

The googlemap inserts object doesnt work, the
photo albums wont allow import of pics,
the calendar object wont display properly,
the links object allows insertion, but links dont work,
and a myriad of other bugs.

Avoid this site unless you have plenty of patience and time to waste.
