Dropbox Doubles Free Space For Referrals

Ever since its launch, Dropbox has offered 2GB of free online storage for free.  You could also gain extra storage by encouraging friends to sign up to the service.  Each new signup gets you another quarter of a gig, or 250 MB.

Last week, Dropbox revised the figures upwards by 100%.  Each successful referral now gets you 500 MB of extra storage for your free account.  Even better, those new figures are retrospective, so if you've signed people up in the past, check your folder size and you should find that your free Dropbox is now bigger than it was.

If you haven't yet signed up for Dropbox, now is definitely a good time to give it a try.  Of all the cloud-based storage services out there, it's still my favourite and is the one that I use every day.
