Create stopped frame videos from series of pictures

Stopped Frame movies are made by putting together pictures shot one by one, rearranging the subject a bit between each to create the illusion of real life movement. This technique was used to create the famous Wallace & Gromit movies, for example. Several free softwares appear to be available, some offering pretty advanced options, but MakeAvi is definitely the easiest to use. Start the program, select the pictures you want to use, choose a number of frames per second and the type of compression, and within seconds, your movie is created.
